This Smoky tube is our brand new curing kit, that contains one cure mix for 1.5kg of smoky bacon.
Our Kit includes everything you need to cure your own bacon at home. Home-curing has been a popular trend over the last year or so, giving you the ability to make proper dry-cured bacon in the comfort of your own home. Curing is any of various food preservation and flavouring processes such as meats and fish, by the addition of combinations of, salts, nitrates, nitrites or sugar. The aim is to draw the moisture out of the meat by the process of osmosis.
Although it sounds complicated, it really isn’t! The process is so simple, and only takes 7 steps. The whole process takes 7 days and your Kit comes with an easy to read instructions booklet for you to follow.

Q. How much Pork do I need?
A. You will need 1.5kg Pork Belly for the curing Mix
Q. Does this Kit Include Pork?
A. No. You will need to get your Pork from your Local Butcher or Supermarket (List of our recommended Butchers below). We recommend using Pork Belly, but Back bacon will also do the trick.
Q. How long does it take to cure?
A. The whole Bacon Curing process takes 7 days, but only takes 10 minutes of your time rubbing in the cure.
Q. Can I reuse the kit?
A. You can reuse all the contents of the kit, apart from the cures. However, if you would like refill packs of our new cures, then please contact us and we can arrange.
