Pates, terrines and other delicious things
A busy week this week! Apart from all the orders and trying to source new products for our website, we had lots of new terrine & pate testing do for the seasonal range.
The main thing is getting the balance of flavours correct, more lemon, less garlic. Too much salt, not enough pepper, try again and again and maybe again!
Wrap in bacon, garnish with some bay leafs, a sprig of rosemary: everyone eats with their eyes – well I do anyway.
Being a bit of a perfectionist it’s got to taste amazing and look beautiful so lots of testing has been done; I think Ross B and I have put on a stone… or two…
These are the pates & terrines we have decided on, can’t wait for you all to try them and share your feedback:
Chicken, Lemon & Pickled Garlic (Mine and my little boys’ fave)
Venison, Red Wine & Cranberry (Ross B’s fave)
Pork, Smoked Bacon, Apple & Cider
Game, Fresh Herbs & Pickled Walnuts (The wife’s fave)
Wild Boar, Black Pepper & Sherry.
We hope you like the sound of them and we will be tweeting when each terrine is available for you to enjoy.
We had a good visit from Cotswold TV, the lovely Rowena & Abby came to video us so we could ramble on about how great our products follow the link to see us both in action:
I know, I know, I know what you are thinking…. we should be on TV right?! So anyone who has any contacts, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 I’m not fussy, you know where we are!
The WOBA business awards are next week [we are up for 2 awards]. The event is being hosted at RAF Brize Norton. We have been told to park in the field opposite the base, between 17.45 and 18.00 and to bring ID. Then once frisked and ID checked, we will be escorted to the air-craft hanger.
All that for a free drink!
Joking aside we are honoured to be in the finals for the Best Micro Business and Best Small Business.
I will report on being frisked next week and please cross all fingers and toes for us in the meantime.
Catch you soon Ross W
